RNP (Non-Hazardous Waste) landfills are among the most common methods for the disposal of municipal solid waste. However, their management requires specific precautions to ensure safety and sustainability.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"4\">In this article, we present a success story that leverages the <b>Reinforced geomembrane Cover Up<\/b> for the permanent securing of an RNP landfill.<\/p><h3 data-path-to-node=\"5\">Setting Up and Closing the Deposit Cell<\/h3><p data-path-to-node=\"6\">The creation of an RNP landfill begins with <b>construction of a handover cell<\/b> where we collect and separate waste. Once the planned fill level has been reached, we close the cell and start the <b>permanent safety phase<\/b>. This phase consists of protecting the landfill from erosion and the infiltration of water and gas.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"7\">The standard final cover includes several layers: a mineral layer, a compacted clay layer, a drainage layer, and a vegetation layer.<\/p><h3 data-path-to-node=\"8\">Preventing Leachate with Geomembranes<\/h3><p data-path-to-node=\"9\">Rainwater infiltration can produce leachate, a highly polluting liquid that can damage the surrounding environment. To prevent this problem, <b>we integrate a reinforced geomembrane<\/b> in the final coverage.<\/p><h3 data-path-to-node=\"10\">Permanent Safety and Cover-Up Technology<\/h3><p data-path-to-node=\"11\">The landfill remediation required a series of interventions:<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"12\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\">Biogas capture.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\">Clay compaction.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\">Installation of the reinforced geomembrane.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"12,3,0\">Surface water drainage.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Thanks to the reinforced Cover Up geomembrane, <b>We have minimised on-site welding.<\/b>, Furthermore, the lightness of the product allows for quick installation, <b>reducing exposure times<\/b> and the overall costs of the intervention.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"14\">The Cover Up series geomembranes <b>they solve environmental problems<\/b> while ensuring economic sustainability. Their high mechanical strength, flexibility and adaptability make them a very <b>effective for the permanent securing of RNP landfills<\/b>.<\/p><h3 data-path-to-node=\"15\">Technical Details of Coverage and Benefits<\/h3><p data-path-to-node=\"16\">For the final cover, we requested:<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"17\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"17,0,0\">A compacted mineral layer.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"17,1,0\">A compacted clay barrier.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"17,2,0\">A drainage system for biogas and water.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"17,3,0\">A final green restoration.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-path-to-node=\"18\">To minimise infiltration, we suggested the integration of <b>Reinforced geomembrane Cover Up<\/b>, having proven to be an effective barrier (20,000,000 square metres already installed).<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"19\">Following active landfilling, we implemented permanent capping through landfill body reshaping, biogas collection, clay compaction, the installation of a reinforced geomembrane, and surface water drainage.<\/p><p data-path-to-node=\"20\">Finally, <b>We have started the environmental remediation of the site<\/b>, restoring the topsoil to protect the barriers and facilitate seeding against erosion.<\/p><h3 data-path-to-node=\"21\">Essential Advantages of Cover-Up Geomembranes<\/h3><p data-path-to-node=\"22\">We chose the reinforced Cover Up geomembrane because <b>protects clay soil<\/b> and ensures a double waterproofing barrier thanks to:<\/p><ul data-path-to-node=\"23\"><li><p data-path-to-node=\"23,0,0\"><b>High tensile strength<\/b> It takes the load of the topsoil and the settlement phenomena of the waste.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"23,1,0\"><b>Flexibility and adaptability:<\/b> It supports the drainage layer and topsoil, preventing slippage.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"23,2,0\"><b>Reduced welding:<\/b> We will minimise site welding by carrying it out in the workshop.<\/p><\/li><li><p data-path-to-node=\"23,3,0\"><b>Cost savings<\/b> The executing company can quickly install the reinforced geomembrane.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-path-to-node=\"24\">The Cover Up geomembrane, <b>functional and convenient<\/b>, they are designed with high mechanical strength values. An internal HDPE fabric acts as a reinforcing armour, and the hot lamination with a triple layer of LDPE ensures the impermeable barrier.
